2017 Wishes + Best of AQUA2016 Art Feature

Hello our wonderful winter watercolorists!

We would like to remind you about our current AquaChallenge: SNOWFLAKES. You can submit your entry till 20th of January 2017! So there's still almost a month to come up with your entry.

Since we are heading towards the end of the year 2016, we would like to express our big gratitude to you, our members. In the year 2016, over 800 new members joined watercolorists and over 3500 artworks have been submitted to our gallery.

Today is truly a Christmas spirit in Watercolorists... as our crew started talking human language. Hear us out, it's the only time in the year! Your dedicated team wishes to share with you some thoughts:


Dear watercolorists members, thank you so much for a brilliant year filled with the most beautiful and creative watercolor artworks any Group Admin could ever wish for! I have learned so much from each and everyone of you through this year: so many techniques, so many styles and so much imagination and creativity in one art medium; you've all blown me away! May your talents continue to grow in 2017.



I joined the group's admin team in May 2016 and I'm so happy I got this opportunity. I always try to give my best to help the group and its members. And this is something I wish you would do to. Try to be your best you can be. Don't give up on art or on painting. Keep on practicing and experimenting, even if you make mistakes. Painting isn't about making pretty artworks, it's about expressing yourself. I wish you lot's of courage, perseverance and luck in the year 2017!  


Yet another year with watercolorists wraps up. This year was special because we waved goodbye to our former Founder Cmac13 and phantsythat as our long-term Moderators, but our lovely Art-by-Cricket and TokyoMoonlight proved to be excellent replacements. We introduced AquaChallenge thanks to Marcela's idea. We accepted thousands of mindblowing watercolor artworks, discussed countless topics and said "Thank you!" to one another over million times (well I didn't count but I'm sure it's close ). For the millionth and one, thank you for being there, Watercolorists, and making this group so delightful experience. See you in 2017!

The whole admin staff of the group wishes you a healthy, happy and creative year 2017!


And now to the surprise part

To celebrate the year 2016 we invite you all to share some awesome artworks.

BEST OF AQUA2016 ART FEATURE

The group will feature all suggested watercolor artworks from our members in a big Best of AQUA2016 art feature!

Here are some rules, because everybody loves them:

WHO can suggest: any member of watercolorists.

WHICH ARTWORKS to suggest:
- artwork must be created and uploaded in the year 2016 (from 1st of January till 31st December of 2016).
- it must be part of our group's gallery (you can check this under "Featured in Groups" on the right side bar on deviation's page).

HOW MANY artworks you can suggest:
- 1 artwork from your own gallery, that you consider the best you have created in the year 2016.
- 1 artwork from a fellow watercolorists member, that you think is the best watercolor artwork you have seen in the year 2016.
If someone else already suggested your favourite artwork, that's not a problem. It's not a contest. Everyone will be featured!

HOW to suggest: write a comment in this journal (add a link or a thumb of the 2 suggested artworks).

TIME: we will accept your suggestions until 8th of January 2017.
