World Watercolor Month

Hello Watercolorists!

There is a special occasion in July for us to celebrate. Everyone heard of Inktober at some point of their life? Thanks to one of our members (thank you ParadoxSketchbook! ) we found out about a similar art challenge created by Doodlewash - but with watercolor as the main medium to use. Thanks to Doodlewash's initiative, July is going to be World Watercolor Month.

It’s a month to inspire people to paint with watercolor (watercolour, aquarelle) while raising awareness for the importance of art and creativity in the world. And anyone can join the celebration from master watercolorists to artists just starting out with watercolor! Simply tag any art that uses watercolors (or gouache) with #WorldWatercolorMonth during the month of July! Try the ultimate challenge of 31 watercolors in 31 days, or simply post when you can! It’s just about maintaining a regular art practice and having fun!

We are happy to announce that watercolorists group will be supporting this initiative: We will open a new folder exclusively for works created in July and tagged with #WorldWatercolorMonth.

Any member of watercolorists can submit one artwork created with watercolor daily to the "World Watercolor Month" folder, in addition to the normal limit of one work per day.
Normal rules apply, and your work must be tagged with #WorldWatercolorMonth to be accepted into this folder.
The folder will be opened on 1st of July.
UPDATE: The folder is now opened! Enjoy twice as much possibility to share your watercolor works!


Since painting everyday could be a great challenge, there is also a list of prompts on the official page of Doodlewash that you can use as inspiration.
Painting everyday could be a way to work out good painting habits, learn to quicken your creative process, overcome your perfectionism, explore medium's abilities, or simply practice your skills and imagination - we couldn't encourage you more to give it a try!
