I prefer to give more time creating a painting than be in rush to finish it .... with no rush comes the " perfection " I realise that in my last couple artworks . I've been working on a beautiful big size watercolour paint for 3 weeks now and it is going to take at least couple more .
The main thing in painting is the time creating an artwork. After you finish an artwork it's...finito, done
Why rush it if you enjoy it. By me it sometimes gets the other way around. I paint a certain piece for so long that I can't wait to finish it, so I'm over with it, that I don't have to look at it no more There are some pieces that frustrate me (too many never ending details)
Watercolors, every 2-3 weeks or so. But I also ~ as a multi-media artist ~ fool with photos, old and failed paintings, and digital tools found withing PhtoSho as editing tools. I DO NOT paint with PS.....so, IT's ALL VARIABLE!!!! Richard
I also do some things in between like pencil, soft pastel or acrylic. But most of the time it's watercolor The more details I want to make the longer it takes me to finish an artwork. That's why I upload "only" 2-3 artworks per month ^^
I also need the inspiration or the mood to draw/paint something Like that heat now...it kills me to even sit. I was "inspired" by my cats now -> did a little afternoon nap Can't wait for the night also...
I draw or paint whenever I have time and I'm in a creative mood. Sketches are more easier and quicker to do so I try to sketch more often, it also helps me to not lose my touch, and when I got some free time I can pick some to actually finish.
I said "other" as it really depends on my mood, stress levels and how busy I am with life in general. Sometimes I draw daily, sometimes every few days, and sometimes I even take a month long break! It really varies.
I try to finish at least one each week but there are days I can't work on them or certain pieces demand more time to be worked on due to the amount of detail or size, specially with watercolor. I don't like rushing
Then you're quite quick Another one who likes to doodle ...I think I'll have to join this thing also...someday ^^ You're all (members) so amazing in being so involved with art...daily Such a great motivation...at least for me it is
It's not that I'm quick but the drawings are small (usually A5 sized) And I voted 1 per week, considering the minimum amount I can make (need to study for exams, as well!) Doodling it's helpful to get out of artist block, or as warm up before getting to the real work C:< I really suggest to try it out
1. sketchbook 2. doodling -> you people drive me crazy Everyone suggests those 2 things I know it's the right thing to do, but I'm just pure lazy Sorry But someday! When I retire...or end up in jail *bad joke*
Ah yes, the sketchbook is cool as well! But I use that to give myself an idea for the "serious pieces" that I make sometimes :3 I can relate to that - once I started anatomy practice (for doing it daily!) but gave up after short time Also once I started some little 3x3 cm thumbnails drawing that I stick on my calendar - but again stopped that as well. Yep, someday...
